
In the September/October 2009 issue of Spa, we pulled together some of our favorite beauty products supporting breast cancer research for Breast Cancer Awareness month (October).
We had a great time researching the story, and since then we have received information on so many more great ways to support cancer research while enjoying fantastic spa treatments or products that we decided to bring you an update on our latest and greatest finds.

CALIFORNIA The Spa at La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California, is offering a "Pink Ribbon Treatment" special from Oct. 1 through Nov. 7: Any 50-minute treatment is $125 Sunday through Friday. With each "Pink Ribbon Treatment" sold, the resort will donate five dollars to the San Diego chapter of Susan G. Komen For the Cure. Guests who book La Costa's Pink Ribbon Treatment also receive a one-time 25% discount in La Costa's Plaza Shops through the end of October. And for participants of the Walk for the Cure, the resort has put together a Spa Special and Slumber Package. For the three days following the walk, Nov. 24-26, participants can enjoy a 50-minute La Costa Massage, Custom Facial, Sports Massage, Reflexology or California Renewal body treatment for just $105, a $50 savings. Or, walkers can book an overnight getaway before or after the walk with the Pink Ribbon Slumber Package, which includes a resort room for two and one 50-minute spa treatment per person from $469 per night. |

COLORADO One of the most highly praised spas in Colorado, The Bachelor Gulch Spa at The Ritz-Carlton in Beaver Creek is launching its first ever Think Pink promotion this year, rolling out four "Pink" treatments only available in October. Ten percent of the proceeds from each treatment (priced from $65 to $175) to will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. |

HAWAII With a portion of the proceeds from its Pink Spa Break room package, Wahine Pu'uwai spa treatment, and Think Pink tea treats and desserts going to Oahu's Kapi'olani Women's Ambulatory Cancer Center, The Kahala Hotel & Resort, in Honolulu, is taking care of its local women. The Pink Spa Break is a three-night stay for $475 per night that includes a massage of your choice. At the spa, the Wahine Pu'uwai (Heart of a Woman) treatment begins with a hot stone and tea leaf foot wrap and massage, followed by a wild Lehua honey scrub and a lomilomi massage ($280, 90 minutes). And in the resort's restaurants afternoon tea treats, sandwiches, and desserts in pink will all help benefit the center. |
