Spa at Home: Make Your Own Foot Scrub

Try this easy-to-make, at-home exfoliating scrub to soften skin, and pamper tired toes.
by Rachel Neal

Everyday activities-from working out to running errands-can take a toll on our fragile feet.

Roxanne Valinoti, education ambassador for nailcare company CND, offers an easy-to- make, at-home exfoliating scrub that mixes cleansing salts with moisturizing jojoba oil, antiseptic citrus, and therapeutic essential oils (try tangerine for rejuvenation, lavender for relaxation, or tea tree for odor elimination) to soften skin, pamper tired toes, and restore vitality from the ground up.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Dead Sea or Epsom salts
  • juice of one lemon
  • 1/2 cup jojoba oil
  • 3 drops essential oil
Directions
  1. Crush salts using a mortar and pestle.
  2. Mix lemon juice and oils together in a small dish.
  3. Add wet ingredients to the salts in a large bowl.
  4. With your hands, apply the scrub to feet and ankles using firm pressure on rough places, such as the heels, and a light touch on sensitive spots like the soles.
