If you're worried about your weight, step into the sun.
A medical study revealed that women with low levels of vitamin D were significantly heavier and had greater body mass than those with adequate levels. The most natural source of the vitamin? Sunshine.
Unless you have a history of skin cancer, the Vitamin D Council recommends getting unprotected exposure from late spring to early fall, going out at midday for one-quarter the time it takes your skin to turn red (about 10 to 30 minutes). If you get little to no sun exposure, you may need to supplement with 5,000 IU or more of vitamin D daily.
