Three New Hawaii Spas

Hawaii's reputation as a top spa destination continues to grow with these impressive additions on Maui, the Big Island and Kauai.

The Aloha State's is known as a spa mecca, and that continues to grow with these impressive spa additions.

Maui: Located on the island's lush northwest coast, Kapalua Spa debuted in July and has created quite a buzz. Its impressive array of amenities includes 10 handcrafted outdoor treatment hales; private stone soaking tubs; and a menu featuring several treatments designed with the help of local wellness guru Darrell Lapulapu to embrace the ocean, Hawaiian culture, and indigenous ingredients.

Big Island: The Hawaiian concept of balance infuses everything at Four Seasons Resort Hualālai at Historic Ka'upulehu (pictured), including Hualālai Spa's new apothecary, where a spa concierge consults with guests to create personalized blends of botanicals and minerals to use in scrubs, wraps, and massage. The spa credits local kupuna (elders) for their advice in keeping the apothecary well stocked: Local sea salts, dried seaweed, volcanic mud, macadamia nuts, jasmine, and pikake are just a sampling of the available ingredients.

Kauai: The Princeville, one of the Garden Isle's most loved destinations, recently received a facelift and re-emerged as The St. Regis Princeville Resort. The new 11,000-square-foot Halele'a ("house of joy") Spa features an authentic Hawaiian treatment menu as well as custom-made products from local company Malie Organics, sustainable seaweed offerings from Voya, and skincare from Kinara.
